As he took field for Delhi Daredevils (DD) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 encounter at Chepauk, Albie Morkel set a new world record — that of most T20 matches in career. He was previously tied with Kieron Pollard (267); Morkel now holds the record with 268.
Following Morkel and Pollard are David Hussey (243), Ryan ten Doeschate (240), Brad Hodge (233), Dwayne Bravo (229), Dirk Nannes (215), Alfonso Thomas (214), Luke Wright (214), Azhar Mahmood (213), and Owais Shah (213). It may come as a surprise that despite the success of IPL, there is no Indian in the top ten — perhaps because Indians do not play in overseas franchise-based T20 tournaments.
The Indians with most T20 matches under their belt are MS Dhoni (192), Rohit Sharma (187), Suresh Raina (187), Yusuf Pathan (176), Gautam Gambhir (175), Harbhajan Singh (173), Robin Uthappa (164), Dinesh Karthik (161), and Virat Kohli (157).

Pollard is also playing in IPL 2015, which means that the record may shift hands as the tournament would progress.
