Amul pays tribute to Amitabh Bachchan’s soulful rendition of national anthem during World T20

Amitabh's soulful rendition of the anthem filled the entire environment with patriotism and pumped-up the Indian team, which eventually went on to beat Pakistan.

The ICC World T20 match between traditional rivals India and Pakistan played at Eden Gardens on Saturday was special in more ways than one. While India beat the arch-rivals for the record 11th time in the World Cups and further stretched their winning streak, they also got back to the winning ways after losing the opener to New Zealand. But what stood apart was superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s national anthem singing act before the start of the play.

Amitabh sang the anthem in his inimitable style, with everybody inside the packed stadium standing in respect. His soulful rendition of the anthem filled the entire environment with patriotism and pumped-up the Indian team, which eventually went on to beat Pakistan.

Now, Amul has come up with its customary topical paying a tribute to Amitabh’s act. The animated topical shows ‘Big B’ singing the anthem with Indian players behind him and the little kids who play mascot during the ceremony standing in front of them. The Amul girl also finds a place in the picture as always as one of the mascots. The caption reads “Big A from Big B” with the tagline beneath the Amul logo reading ‘United the nation’.
