Every now and then, we see an Amul topical come out with a refreshing take on a contemporary issue and offer us food for thought. With the ninth season of Indian Premier League (IPL) being underway and the water controversy surrounding it, an Amul topical on the same was just a matter of time.
It did come out with a customary witty take on the issue. The topical shows the Amul girl padded-up holding a cricket bat and helmet at the stadium. Standing next to her is a person from the ground staff who is holding a pipe, which has been blocked, to water the pitch and the outfield.
The caption reads Indian Paani Leek; sounding similar to the extension of IPL. The tag-line in the end reads: Amul – Supplied when needed. With this topical, Amul have managed to deliver another hard-hitting satirical take on a pressing issue.
