Raina Beeti Jaye, Shyam Na Aaye is a famous Bollywood song composed by R D Burman and sung by Lata Mangeshkar from the 1972 film Amar Prem, which was directed by Shakti Samanta. The Rajesh Khanna and Sharmlia Tagore starrer is as old as 40-years old but the melodious song still touches the heart of the music lovers. The translation for the opening line is ‘the night is passing but Krishna does not come.’
The above meme is inspired by the classic song, taking a dig at Indian batsman Suresh Raina, who had a terrible outing in India’s campaign in Australia. One of India’s main batsmen, Raina played a total of five international innings (both Tests and One-Day Internationals) in Australia and his scores read: 0, 0, 51, 1, and 1.
With just over two weeks to go for the World Cup in Australia, Raina’s form is a big concern for the defending champions. As India crashed out of the tri-series on Friday failing to win a single game in the tour, Raina once again got dismissed for just one. The Australian and English bowlers have got better off him, beating him quite frequently and have had the last laugh.
