Shikhar Dhawan came on the Test scene in style, with a blazing 187 against Australia at Mohali in 2013. But in the 13 Tests he has played since his debut, he has scored just one century and two half-centuries. His scores in the last 13 Test innings is a disaster: 2, 12, 29, 7, 31, 6, 37, 25, 9, 24, 81, 28, and 0.
His poor form has not been restricted to Tests. In the three One-Day Internationals he played in the tri-series that followed the Tests against Australia, Dhawan has scored 2, 1, 8 and 38.

The selectors showed faith in him, but some of his fans are not so charitable who have made a funny comparison with a bottle opener (above)!
