As Brazil were being humiliated by Germany in the FIFA World Cup 2014 semi-final, its effects could be felt in England. On the eve of the first Test between India and England, Ishant Sharma is optimistic that India cannot lose 7-1. The Flying Freak brings you the story.

Following Brazil’s humiliation in the FIFA World Cup 2014 semi-final against Germany, Indian pacer Ishant Sharma is positive about India’s chances against England. The last time India were in England, they were beaten 4-0 in a Test series where they were battered and humiliated. Ishant, who was a part of that team, conceded 640 runs on the previous tour and took 11 wickets. But, now, he feels that no humiliation can be worse than what happened to Brazil.
Ishant reportedly told a few pressmen, “At least, we won’t win 7-1. A result like 5-0 is still fine. And, it won’t be at home.” However, critics were there to hit back at Ishant. There is no respite for him even when he expresses optimism. One Ishant critic said, “The last time India lost 8-0 in England if you count the One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and the T20. What is he talking about?” The other said, “If we talk about his economy rate, then we can expect 7.1 from him certainly.” On hearing that, Ishant responded, “Come to India, then we will see who wins!”
However, miles away, Mushfiqur Rahim is still clinging on to the game where Bangladesh were bowled out for 58 while chasing 102 against “India A.” Mushfiqur extended his support to David Luiz and said, “It happens bro. Last month, we shamed ourselves in front of the whole world, that too against India A. You have lost in the semi-final.” On hearing this statement, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has fined him, and banned him for six months. Mushfiqur will now join Shakib Al Hasan on a world tour!
Meanwhile, Kamran Akmal has “dropped” his plans of going to Brazil to improve his keeping.
