After a dismal show by the Zimbabwe in the ODIs, they will need to regroup together and start fresh in this T20 series. Their batting faltered and couldn’t stand up to the bowling attack by India. This shorter format of the game might give them a chance to redeem their respect. India had a wonderful ODI series with their bowling and top order clicking at the same time. But the middle order went untested and it will be interesting to see how MSD rotates his playing XI to utilize his squad. If not winning the series, Zimbabwe will have to at least put a good fight, and prove their mettle and squash all the talks about being incompetent against India’s second-string side. Best economical pick – Jasprit Bumrah flawlessly executed his role of the lead bowler after just a few games in his international career. He has been impressive ever since making it to the national squad and has led the bowling attack from the front in this series.
Top captains & vice captains – The talented KL Rahul has performed impressively well in the limited opportunities that he has been given for Team India. He is the highest run getter in the ODI series, scoring runs at ease. Manish Pandey is yet to get chance to show his capability which we saw in the IPL. He stood up for his team in difficult situations scoring runs at good pace. Smart pick –Zimbabwe’s top order batsman Vusi Sibanda has displayed his talent in the ODIs, having a good experience in the international level he could provide the momentum needed by the Zimbabwe batsmen.
Cautions Pick –Hamilton Masakadza has a good reputation as a batsman and we have seen some fine innings from him. But he failed his team in the ODIs when it has needed for him to perform.
