A storm is brewing ahead of the ICC World Cup next month to be played in Australia and New Zealand. The West Indies Cricket Board announced their squad for the World Cup in which Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard – two of the biggest global attractions in overs-limit cricket are missing. It’s news that has been received with total shock in the cricketing world.
“How can those two guys [Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard] not be in the team? To me it got to be like victimisation when you look at it towards those two guys. It’s just ridiculous. Really hurt. …it is a ridiculous selection from my point of view,” said Chris Gayle publicly after the conclusion of Sunday’s T20 match between the West Indies and South Africa.
It’s learnt that both Bravo and Pollard are going to reveal all the behind-the-scene happenings that led to their shocking ouster. The two all-rounders will come out in all honestly in a book that is scheduled to come out before the World Cup gets under way.
