Team India has been without a head coach ever since Duncan Fletcher’s tenure ended after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Ravi Shastri did a commendable job with the squad in the capacity of Team Director in last 18 months. But since his contract ended after the ICC World T20 2016, the team was once again left in the lurch.
It emerged after a BCCI advertisement in this regard a few days back that 57 candidates were in the fray to get the hot seat of Indian cricket. The list has been now trimmed to 21, with the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly deciding the coach.
