Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers exclusive insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Chennai Super Kings vs Pune Warriors India game – the second of the two IPL matches on Thursday.

Chennai Super Kings

The Chennai Super Kings are feeling the pinch of inconsistency. The Four of Swords and the Five of Pentacles reaffirms the stress they’re under. The concern is, they may bring this feeling into the match with them. To avoid this, the King of Swords and the Ace of Wands do show the new plans they’re trying to bring into play. They will improve their chances of winning through team work, rather than relying too heavily on individuals.

Batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni may get too complacent initially, but should see sense soon, and as guided by the Hierophant, he will be able to play a well-balanced innings. As a captain, he will be very active in brining about the changes, and should dominate through quick decision making.

Key players

Suresh Raina will play well for the team. His innings will be unselfish and will do all that is required to manifest the team’s plans.

Ravindra Jadeja should have a steady, strong innings and will play well in a partnership.

Albie Morkel will have a strong start and would be able to play with consistency, but he may not have a strong finish in comparison.

Ravichandran Ashwin, should be strong and balanced like the Chariot. His hunger to succeed will mean that achievement will come his way.

Doug Bollinger will need to have more control in his bowling spell. He will gain better stability after his initial start.

Dwayne Bravo will work hard and apply himself today. He has the potential to command.

Shadab Jakati will bowl well in a strong bowling partnership and it should be tough to score off him.

Pune Warriors India

The Warriors are looking strong, in control and very wise from all their match lessons. They have the ability to rise up to their strengths in order to consolidate their weaknesses, which should mainly be in the field today. Their fielding should start off okay, but then it might dip and the opposition will make the best use of such lapses. Luckily, their bowling is looking strong because the Pune Warriors seem ready to apply themselves. As for their batting, they have the Ten of Pentacles, so they should be able to accumulate runs as a team.

Sourav Ganguly should play a firm innings today. He will be able to make runs and bring the team into a strong position. He will play with aggression and this will motivate his team too. Captain Ganguly may have problems in implementing his plans and will need to be more pro-active in his decision making.

Key players

Jesse Ryder should play a commanding innings, but will need to maintain his focus throughout the match.

Robin Uthappa may start off confused but with the Three of Pentacles showing up, he will be able to play a strong, independent innings.

Angelo Mathews will give importance to team work and well directed action. He should receive results from this.

Steve Smith will be attacking and aggressive. He may play an important innings after a wary start.

Rahul Sharma will direct his aggression into his bowling and would try to dominate the opposition. The results of this may be inconsistent.

Ashok Dinda will be a bit nervous, but will try his best to hide this. He should have a decent day with the ball.

Ashish Nehra, like the Seven of Wands will be strong, dominant and will bowl in sync to his field.

Who has the advantage?

This is a tough one and it’s left me a little confused. Pune Warriors have the ability to beat Chennai Super Kings today, but despite looking stronger overall, Pune may falter in the last five overs. Plus, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s captaincy is looking stronger than Sourav Ganguly’s leadership. Therefore I would say Chennai Super Kings have the advantage.
