Pakistan have now won five of their last give ODIs and seven out of their last eight. In contrast, Sri Lanka have lost eight ODIs in a row. The 2-0 Test series win over Pakistan may not have sunk in yet for the Sri Lankans but the islanders have a lot to worry in the shorter format. In yet another listless show, Sri Lanka were walloped by Pakistan by 83 runs.

The Pakistan innings received boost from Babar Azam’s sixth ODI century, Shoaib Malik’s 40th fifty and brisk knocks from Mohammad Hafeez and Fakhar Zaman. Pakistan’s 292 was always going to challenge Sri Lanka but the visitors showed little appetite for fight with the willow.
