The 13th match of ICC T20 World Cup 2016 was played between India and New Zealand at Nagpur. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bat first but New Zealand did not start well and lost their three wickets inside 7 overs, but Corey Anderson played well on a tough wicket to score 34 runs from 42 balls and along with him, with Luke Ronchi’s contribution of 21* runs New Zealand somehow posted a total of 126 runs from 20 overs. In reply, India also did not start well and lost four wickets inside 6 overs, but then Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni tried to make a partnership, however following Virat Kohli’s wicket, other batsmen did not play well and ultimately India were bowled out for 79 runs to concede a 47-run win to New Zealand. 2nd – This is only 2nd time in World T20 that India have been bowled out in an innings of a T20I match. Other instance when they bowled out in a T20I match in World T20 came against Australia at Bridgetown on May 7, 2010.

47 – Number of Runs by which New Zealand beaten India in yesterday’s match is their seventh largest victory (in terms of runs) in a T20I match and their third largest (in terms of runs) in World T20.

1st – This is only instance when India have lost their first match of ICC World T20. In the 13th match of ICC World T20 2016, New Zealand defeated India by 47 runs.

18 – Number of Wickets taken by Ashwin in 2016 is joint most by any bowler in T20Is in 2016. UAE’s Amjad Javed has also taken 18 wickets in T20Is in 2016. Yesterday, Ashwin picked up one wicket against New Zealand.

9 – Number of Wickets taken by New Zealand spinners against India yesterday, this is joint most by spinners in an innings of a T20I match.

11/4 – Figures of Mitchell Santner registered in yesterday’s match against India is best by any bowler against India in a T20I match.

42 – Number of runs scored by India in the first ten overs against New Zealand in yesterday’s match. It is the lowest that India has scored in the first 10 overs of a T20I match.

3 – Number of Times Rohit Sharma has been stumped out in T20Is is most by any Indian batsman. Yesterday, he was stumped out to the bowling of Mitchell Santner.

8 – Number of Runs scored by Williamson against India is his lowest score in 2016 in a T20I match. His other scores in 2016 in T20Is are 33, 72*, 70, 32* and 53.

142 – Number of Instances when wicket-keeper batsmen top-scored the innings of a T20I match. Yesterday, MS Dhoni top-scored Indian innings by scoring 30 runs from 30 balls.

12 – Number of Wickets taken by spinners in this match are third most by spinners in any T20I match.

61 – Number of Runs scored by India from their 15 overs. These are the least they have scored after 15 overs in World T20. Their Previous lowest was 81 vs South Africa in 2009.

2 – This is the 2nd time any host team lost its first match in a World T20 edition. Other instance came when England lost their first match against Netherlands in 2009.
