Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh emerged as the most expensive buy in the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction on Monday.

The auction held in Bengaluru saw IPL franchisees Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore getting into a bidding war for Yuvraj’s services. The battle was eventually won by Delhi Daredevils who splurged a whooping Rs 16 crores on the left-hander.

Incidentally, this was the second successive year that Yuvraj became the highest earning IPL player. In the IPL 2014 auction, the 33-year-old was sold to RCB for a then record 14 crores.
