The pushgate incident marred the 2014 England-India series. During the first Test at Nottingham, Ravindra Jadeja and James Anderson exchanged a few words in the middle. But what allegedly happened later was a mystery. India complained that Anderson had pushed Jadeja and had abused him as they walked back at the end of a session. On the other hand, England claimed that it was Jadeja who first charged at Anderson. The controversy raged off the field as England and India faced-off in the second Test at Lord’s. India won that by 95 runs and Jadeja had the better of Anderson in that game. He took him for runs in the second innings and had a hand in Anderson’s dismissal in both essays.
