Narendra Modi, ‘paid’ media, and even some of his own party members and all the people in India living outside Delhi have mocked and criticised him on regular basis and as if that wasn’t enough, Kejriwal faces new set of allegations, this time from India’s very own fast bowler Ishant Sharma.
A few days ago, Delhi’s selectors tried to contact Ishant Sharma over phone to check his availability for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2015-16 season. Ishant, who is not a part of ODI and T20 squads for the South Africa series was expected to be a part of Delhi team, for the initial half of the Ranji season, which would help him to get some important match practice. But it so happened that Ishant didn’t respond to the selector’s phone calls and was left out of the squad.
This was a shocking news for Ishant and when our reporters contacted him to try and find out his side of the story, the lanky fast bowler replied angrily, ”It’s all because of Kejriwal that I have been left out of the squad. I understand that I failed to respond to the phone call but it would have been so easy for the selectors to just drop in a message through WhatsApp and I would have immediately replied. But it so happens that the selectors do not have internet data pack active on mobile. Kejriwal had promised that he would provide free Wi-Fi in Delhi once he came to power but he has cheated us all.”
He continued, “A free Wi-Fi, would have made the job so easy for the selectors as well. They would just have to make a WhatsApp group and select one team unanimously as against giving out 3 different teams in the public and making DDCA a laughing stock!”
Amit Shah, BJP President, who also happens to be Gujarat Cricket Association president, supported Ishant’s views by saying, ”Kejriwal’s procrastination and hilarious ways at handling simple issues has rubbed off on DDCA and its selectors as well.”
Kejriwal was furious with this fresh set of allegations put forward by Ishant Sharma and tweeted, ”Mai toh aam admi hoon. Unche log mujhee dabaana chahte hai! (I am a common man, people who are of higher strata want to suppress me!)” , taking a clear dig at Ishant Sharma with that catch phrase, ‘Unche log‘!!
We tried calling Ishant Sharma again to get his response to Kejriwal’s tweet but it seems Ishant is still out of coverage area or is waiting for free Wi-Fi services.
