The first One-Day International (ODI) between Ireland and Pakistan at Dublin began and ended in quite a dramatic way. After winning the toss, Ireland invited Pakistan to bat and after losing the first wicket at the score of 17 in the form of their captain Azhar Ali, there was no stopping for opener Sharjeel Khan. Pakistan’s left-handed batsman Sharjeel ended up scoring a magnificent 86-ball 152 while Shoaib Malik and debutant Mohammad Nawaz both scored half- centuries. Their effort helped Pakistan post a big total of 337 for 6 in 47 overs. In reply, Irish batsmen were crushed under Umar Gul’s pace and Imad Wasim’s spin web as the duo collected eight wickets together to bury the hosts for a paltry 82. With Pakistan registering a huge victory in this ODI, there were plenty of records rewritten and on this occasion, Abhishek Kumar presents such interesting statistical highlights from the match. .
