Please note this is a humour article — work of pure fiction
Aamir Khan starrer ‘PK’ has been in the news recently for the right and wrong reasons. While the box-office numbers are soaring and critics singing praises, religious groups, however, have come down heavily on the film, even demanding a ban.
CricLife learns that the sequel will appease the haters of the ‘PK” version one. The film has international cricket’s original PK, Meerut’s own Praveen Kumar, in the lead role.
‘PK’ director Rajkumar Hirani had already started filming the sequel, but the the director found it difficult to handle Praveen’s eccentric behaviour. Hirani has walked out, while Saurabh Shukla and Boman Irani, too have opted out.
Our Bollwyood source told us: “Raju is a gentleman. He preferred a dignified exit than clash with Praveen.”
The man who has stepped in to direct the film is Sajid Khan, who told us: “Praveen is not in the national side, and has ample time to shoot.” Said quickly clarified, “Shoot as in film shoot, not with firearm! Please don’t misquote me.”
It is learnt, Ram Kapoor has agreed to play the role of N Srinivasan (BCCI chief-in-exile) in the sequel.
The film-makers believe that Praveen Kumar is an innocent, simple young man who questions the convoluted ways of the society. When he doesn’t get the answers, he begins bashing up.
Our source, who his close to Praveen Kumar and the film-maker defended the cricketer: “Yes, PK head-butted a batsman in 2013. Even the great Zidane did, so what’s the big deal? It was the batsman Ajitesh Argal’s fault. How dare he check with the umpire whether it was a no-ball or not? It’s not his job. Yes, he also thrashed a doctor, but the doctor had splashed slush on Praveen’s clothes,” the source defended Praveen’s controversies.
When asked about Praveen’s tiff with the cameraman in 2009 and later fans, the friend said curtly: “You guys will never understand the innocent PK. It’s the same everywhere. That is what makes him angry.”
One wonders what is in store for the film-makers who have been rather bold in casting Praveen Kumar. It could well be a case from the frying pan to the fire!
