Less than a fortnight back, Manish Pandey trended everywhere. Why not? He starred in India’s solitary win the ODI series in Australia. He struck calm and composed unbeaten hundred as India went on to register the highest run-chase against Australia in Australia. Not as a part of the T20I side, Pandey had to return home after his heroics.

Though he has been picked in the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka, he failed to make the cut for the Indian squad for Asia Cup T20 and the ICC World T20 2016 that will follow. Pandey was the part of the Virat Kohli-led Under-19 Indian side that won the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2008, and a year later he became the first Indian batsman to score a hundred in IPL. Pandey has a knack of performing well in crucial games and in 2014, he scored a hundred in the IPL final, helping Kolkata Knight Riders to lift their second IPL trophy.
