Poll: Who will be India’s best bowler in the ODI series against Australia?

The most awaited clash of the season between Australia and India Down Under gets underway from Tuesday with the first One-Day International (ODI) of the five-match series at WACA, Perth. As this tour is one of the biggest assignments of the Indian team, they will look forward to put up their best exhibition in the entire series.

Australian conditions are known to assist fast bowlers too, as they have reasonable amount of bounce and carry further making a bowler’s life easy. As bowling department has been one of the matters of concern for India in the recent times, their unit has its task cut-out. Unfortunately, India’s ace bowler Mohammad Shami picked up a mistimed injury as he pulled a hamstring during nets session due to which he has been ruled out of the series.

The onus of leading the pace attack will now be on Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav, though India have enough ammunition in their spin department it will be interesting to see which bowler stands out. Ishant has been in the circuit for a long time now and has plethora of experience in his basket. Barinder Sran possesses raw pace and immense talent and can make the difference. Bhuvneshwar Kumar too has been roped in as a replacement for Shami but his primary weapon which is control over his swing has been diminishing off late. This series could well be a defining moment for Bhuvneshwar and he can sculpt a regular spot in the side. No stone will be left unturned when the pace battery puts in the hard yards as all are keen to put up a solid display.

Coming to the spin department, Ravichandran Ashwin has been outstanding and has led the spin department with unmatched confidence. His presence will be vital as he can put brakes on the accelerator. Ravindra Jadeja too has been impressive in his comeback and can be handy with his orthodox left-arm spin. Cast your vote on whom do you think will have a prolific run in the five-match ODI series.
