When the South Africans arrived in India last month, everyone knew that it would be a tough series but playing in home conditions India started as the favourites. A month later, the story looks different. The visitors first beat India 2-0 in the Twenty20 International (T20I) series and followed that up with a 3-2 win in the One-Day International (ODI) series. By doing so, South Africa registered their first ever ODI series win in India. Batsmen played a key role in that and skipper AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock, all scored runs at plenty.
The Test series is starting on November 5 and South African batsmen are all geared up. De Villiers, who already smashed three hundreds in the ODI series, scored another ton in the tour game and he is raring to go. Batting will once again play an important role in the Test series and both the sides are stacked up with world class batsmen.
Let’s have a look at the stats of the top batters from both the sides.
Look at the top three South African batsmen and you will figure out the reason why they are the No.1 Test side at the moment. There is some inexperience but there’s plenty of talent in both the side’s batting. Who do you think among these men will shine the most in the upcoming Test series?
