Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Mumbai Indians vs Deccan Chargers game scheduled for Monday.
Deccan Chargers
The Chargers have some great plans, yet they will show some bouts of weaknesses. They have the right support system, but it will be important to charge themselves up. The first key will be to get their combinations right in bowling and batting. As the Five of Wands suggests, if the team can come together and direct their aggression well, then they can be a challenge for the Mumbai Indians.
Kumar Sangakara will take his time to adjust into the T20 mode after the Test series against England. But the Eight of Pentacles explains that he won’t shy away from the application needed to be a successful captain. It will be important for him to be realistic in his expectations from his team.
Key players
Shikhar Dhawan will really need to free himself up if he wants to perform better. He may be too uptight coming into this game.
Dale Steyn will again need to direct himself better, as he can prove to be all over the place. The end of his bowling spell will be more beneficial for the team.
Daniel Christian has such great cards! The Magician and the Empress – you can’t get a better combination than this to showcase your talents. Christian has the ability to shine, but it will be important to use him wisely.
Ankit Sharma is a strong competitor and has a good fiery temperament. He has the potential to be in command from the onset.
JP Duminy really should be played – as I mentioned in an earlier article. He has all the capabilities to enforce his authority on the game. There is a weakness, and that’s the Four of Swords, where he may find himself under pressure from expectations. If he can shrug this off, then there is nothing stopping him doing well.
Mumbai Indians
Mumbai does have an air of concern about them. They do realise that they have been making silly mistakes and fear repeating them again. The positivity is the Star, which shows clear recovery in their approach. They will be able to bat without inhibitions and would do better if they bat first. If they keep their energies up and along with some individual successes, Mumbai will definitely relish the challenge. They will mature in this game.
Harbhajan Singh may find it tough to do justice to his bowling, but as a captain he will be better balanced and in command. The Emperor suggests that there will be some wise decision making and stability in his on field processes.
Key players
Sachin Tendulkar will really need to free his mind and play his natural game. The Sun suggests the clear desire to play with a free mind, which he will show glimpses of, but it’s the Tower card that concerns me in him seeing his innings through. If he can release any unnecessary baggage then he should do well.
Ambati Rayudu can have a great day. He has the Wheel of Fortune on his side, so he should really make the best use of this occasion. There is a possibility for him to be involved in an important partnership.
Munaf Patel will be another player that will play well in tandem. He should be a little careful of spilling away some extra runs.
Rohit Sharma should grab this opportunity. If he applies himself like the Eight of Pentacles, then he can do very well.
Kieron Pollard will continue to be steady and consistent.
Laisth Malinga will be on his staple diet of consistency. He will work well with them team on implementing ideas.
Who has the advantage?
Mumbai Indians are looking stronger mainly because they should be putting up a mature performance. The toss will be important
