When India played their last game of 2015, the talking point was how Rohit Sharma is a misfit in the Test setup. And this year starts for India in the following way: First runs, first four, first six, first fifty and first century, all from Rohit. He has started this series exactly like he started versus South Africa- with a hundred. Also Read: Rohit Sharma hits third ODI ton on Australian soil: Twitter Reactions
Agreed the wicket was flat and tailor-made for a Rohit special but the fans were happily surprised by this performance from the talented Mumbaikar especially after his poor performances versus South Africa in the Tests where he was trolled and ridiculed by one and all.
Even Rohit Sharma was confused as to how he keeps scoring hundreds and double hundreds in ODIs and T20s while failing miserably in Tests.
Finally, Ravi Shastri, the Swami Vivekananda of cricket world, revealed on the latter’s birth anniversary that secret to Rohit’s batting was the blue jersey.
Speaking exclusively to the writer, Shastri revealed, “Look at all his big performances. All have come when he has played with a blue jersey on. Be it for Mumbai Indians or for India in limited overs! That blue jersey is the secret of Rohit’s energy and not Boost as was in Sachin’s case!”
Rohit was delighted after Shastri revealed this secret and immediately went up and mailed ICC to allow him to play in a blue jersey in Tests as well so that he can better his performances.
It now remains to be seen if ICC allows Rohit to wear blue jersey in Tests.
