Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs over 24 years of his cricketing career. Over the years, he has written many records and has brought immense joy and happiness to the nation.

 

Tendulkar wasn’t yet awarded the Bharat Ratna, but in 2012, Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced that the cricketer was to be bestowed with the Order of Australia.

In doing so, Tendulkar became only the second Indian after Soli Sorabjee, to get such an honour from Australia. Amul, in their ad stated that Tendulkar had won the “Aadar of Australia!” Aadar in Hindi means ‘love and respect’.
