Step aside, Robert Kiyosaki!

Unlike the poor cricketing chiefs, N Srinivasan has made the BCCI incredibly rich by methods that does not meet the approval of any right-minded person.

Robert Kiyosaki is a Japanese-American best-selling author who has written over 15 books which have raked in a combined sales of over 26 million copies. Kiyosaki wrote the Rich Dad Poor Dad series of motivational books has stirred the imagination of the world. Kiyosaki rubbishes conventional wisdom in getting rich and has published a series of revolutionary books.

In his book, Kiyosaki shows why it is important to deviate from the conventional path and tells the stories of his Rich Dad [his friend’s father who deviated from the beaten path and got incredibly rich] and Poor Dad [his biological father who went by conventional logic and remained broke]. Rich Dad Poor Dad talks about the author talks about his upbringing and education in Hawaii and highlights the different attitudes towards money, work and life of the ‘dads’ who showed him what to do and what not to do. The book majorly talks about what the rich, middle class and poor teach their kids about money.

We used Kiyosaki’s legendary series and brilliant thinking to do a spoof on N Srinivasan. Unlike the poor cricketing chiefs, N Srinivasan has made the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) incredibly rich by methods that does not meet the approval of any right-minded person. And the Supreme Court of India censured the power-hungry, Machiavellian cricket boss in no uncertain terms for his way of going about matters. Srinivasan’s love for IPL — and CSK — is quite apparent. The importance given to IPL is so pronounced that today youngsters play cricket to land a big-fat IPL contract than a place in the national side. Rich Chief Poor Chief is a spoof of that flawed thinking.
