Humour is supposed to make you laugh. Isn’t it? Even slapstick, which is one of genres that Tanmay Bhatt’s AIB caters to, is defined as ‘comedy based on deliberately clumsy actions and humorously embarrassing events.’ Comedy is something that is intended to make audience ‘laugh’. OK, now watch this:
Now tell me if this is funny? OK, bodies like MNS, VHP or certain Muslim clerics will always look for an opportunity to either issue a fatwa or break glasses over pettiest of issues so I am not getting into MNS’ complaint to Mumbai Police over this overtly stupid video.
What Prof. Mooshie knows is Tanmay Bhat is one of the members of the famous AIB that had a show running in Star despite the ridiculous abusive mega event that they staged last year and called it Roast. No doubt, AIB have come out with some good stuff too but again, is this comedy?

For a change and with heavy hearts, there is no option but to agree with the above tweets. If disgusting comments over Farida Jalal at Roast were not enough, Lata Mangeshkar commenting about Sachin Tendulkar‘s abdomen guard was disgusting. There are plenty of videos on Epic Raps on YouTube and lot of them have done very well and despite the language, they have brought out points in a way where they have not been disrespectful and more importantly it is funny. Fortunately or unfortunately, Tanmay Bhat and AIB are a brand now and when masses follow you, the sense of responsibility seeps in and it becomes a duty to provide them with good entertainment. This cheap dig or fun at two Bharat Ratnas leaves a bad taste and we doubt even the extreme sadists had some takeaway from this. The common excuse is citing references from West and how people openly acknowledge bullshit there. Culturally, this is a FAIL, so it is in terms of making the audience laugh.
