Indian women’s cricket team on Wednesday emerged victorious against New Zealand in a five match One-Day International (ODI) series. The series also witnessed Indian skipper Mithali Raj register 5,000 ODI runs, becoming the second woman to achieve this milestone. Recognising this feat, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to reward the winning team with Rs. 21 lakhs.
The above meme is a humorous take on how Yuvraj Singh of Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Dinesh Karthik of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) would have reacted to this BCCI’s decision. Yuvraj and Karthik — both out of the national side at the moment, managed to grab a mammoth price of Rs 16 crore and Rs 10.5 crore respectively in the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions, earlier this year.
Even the 17-year-old Sarfaraz Khan, who has played only three First-Class matches till date was roped in by RCB for a price of Rs 50 lakhs, which is more than double of what BCCI is rewarding the women cricketers!
