None of the MI batsmen managed to go beyond single digits barring Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Harbhajan Singh. There were some highlights from this interesting match; let us throw light on some of them. FULL SCORECARD: Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2016, Match 37 at Visakhapatnam

David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan’s stunning opening stand: David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan replicated the start they got off to against Gujarat Lions (GL) a few days ago in a match that they won. Warner was off the mark by slapping Tim Southee, who opened the attack, through cover. Dhawan tagged along from the other end. In Harbhajan Singh’s first over, Warner and Dhawan picked his pace and smashed him all over the place. By the end of the powerplay, SRH were already 51 without loss. It was only in the 10th over that Harbhajan bounced back to dismiss Warner 2 runs short of his fifty. The opening stand was worth a vital 85 runs.

Dhawan’s unbeaten 82: After playing second fiddle to Warner in their opening stand, Dhawan batted through the innings to carry SRH to 177. His unbeaten knock of 82 included 10 fours and 1 six. He reached his fifty with a single towards deep mid-wicket. Warner was dismissed at the end of the 10th over, after which Dhawan smashed 6 fours and 1 six that lead SRH to a secure 82 off 57 balls. He was also active on the field taking the catch of Krunal Pandya at mid-wicket to give Barinder Sran getting his first wicket.

Yuvraj Singh’s blistering cameo and hit-wicket: He might have been unlucky in his first match of IPL 9, but this time around Yuvraj Singh proved to be the star for this innings. His knock of 39 runs from 23 balls included 3 fours and 2 sixes, and complimented Dhawan till the end of the innings. He was dismissed hit-wicket — the first time it has happened in IPL 9 — when there were only 2 balls remaining in the innings. Mitchell McClenaghan got a bonus wicket. Yuvraj also won the award for maximum sixes.

Dhawan and Yuvraj steady ship: Dhawan and Warner had got SRH off to a great start, but the wickets of Warner and Kane Williamson put the brakes on slightly. Yuvraj took his time to settle in and let Dhawan take most of the strike. It was when part-time seamer Kieron Pollard was called for his first over that Yuvraj unfurled a boundary and followed it with a six. Dhawan and Yuvraj reached their 50-runs stand in the 17th over, and by the end of the 20th over they had added 84 runs.

Vintage Ashish Nehra: Nehra was back in action with his typical vintage spell early on in the match, getting the crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma in his first over. Rohit was caught with leaden feet and ended up inside-edging the ball onto his stumps. Nehra got his second target when he bowled a short ball that Ambati Rayudu ended up edging to Kane Williamson at backward point. Nehra took his third wicket in the same over when he had Jos Buttler departing for 2, this time caught behind. Nehra ended with figures of 3 for 15 in 3 overs. He was named Man of the Match for his spell.

Mustafizur Rahman spells doom: Mustafizur was called on to bowl in the 10th over of the innings, after much of the MI batting had already been polished off. He struck first ball, getting Hardik Pandya to edge behind to Naman Ojha. Tim Southee and Mitchell McClenaghan soon followed suit, to give Mustafizur 3 scalps. Mustafizur ended with figures of 3 for 16 in 3 overs.
