Yuvraj Singh was out of form during 2010 and then he got into the 2011 World Cup squad and went on to become the Player of the Tournament.
A year later, Yuvraj announced that he was suffering from cancer. The fact that he had gone through a lot of pain to win India the World Cup the previous year, endeared him to the public. He received a wave of support and emotional messages poured in as people prayed for his recovery.
Amul made a touching advertisement to show the level of support for Yuvraj. It said, “Yu and vi will fight this together!”
On Tuesday, BCCI announced the 15-member squad for ICC World Cup 2015. Despite having played well in recent First-Class matches, Yuvraj was left out.
