Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg changed his profile picture on Sunday to support the Indian government’s initiative to increase Internet access. Later, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also changed his profile photo. The duo collaborated at the Silicon Valley for the ‘digital India’ campaign. The vision was entirely Modi’s who wanted the backing from the top digital bosses, which he got not surprising at all for a man, who has won many hearts around the world.
Now it is heart whelming to see cricketers joining in voices of support, one of the most recognisable voices among them being that of India’s number one spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He took to Twitter instantly to express support:
Amazing to read the PM ‘s idea of Indian villages going digital.Take Google to the villages, the villages will take India to the world.
— Ashwin Ravichandran (@ashwinravi99) September 28, 2015
In fact Ashwin is not the only cricketer ushering support, there is Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yusuf Pathan, Ajinkya Rahane, Manoj Tiwary, Sanju Samson and others, who have changed their Facebook pictures symbolising support for the same.
The hashtag #ISupportDigitalIndia has been trending and we expect many others to pick a cue from here.
