Kyle Edmund may be setting the Australian courts on fire, in the ongoing Australian Open 2018, but it is seldom known that his first love was cricket. Edmund was a budding cricketer from Yorkshire. He still cherishes the cricket-ball that he kept after hitting the winning during his school days into the science block window.

Edmund given his physical make-how, took to Tennis at the age of 12. According to dailymail.co.uk, Edmund said: I think I chose tennis because it was an individual sport, I had more ownership. But I loved other sports.

Britain No.2, Edmund still watches cricket whenever time permits. He also spoke about meeting Ricky Ponting. I was in a restaurant the other day and Ricky Ponting walked in. He s one of the biggest Aussie legends and I was like, Oh, there s Ricky Ponting . Fidde (his Swedish coach Fredrik Rosengren) had no idea who he was.”

Edmund is also a keen follower of Liverpool. He is slated to face World No.6 Marin Cilic in the semi-finals of Australia Open on Thursday.
