Bangladesh fans go berserk while celebrating win against India

The historic win has given Bangladesh a 2-0 lead and they have not only won the series but also qualified for the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Unimaginable scenes followed in Bangladesh on Sunday, the moment Sabbir Rahman scored the winning run off the bowling of Indian Axar Patel.  Bangladesh switched on its celebratory mode and fans went wild to celebrate their first-ever series win against India.

The fireworks lit up the night sky post the hosts victory in the second One-Day International (ODI) against India. Celebratory processions were taken out by people in various parts of Dhaka and other cities. The fans chanted slogans as they went frenzy.

The historic win has given Bangladesh a 2-0 lead and they have not only won the series but also qualified for the 2017 Champions Trophy.

In a report from IANS, a student named Pintu Ranjan said, “Bangladesh’s self-confidence led to the victory.” A student named Rimon, further added, “Bangladesh exceeded our expectations. They have proved they are not weak, not anymore.”

The fans now hope for a 3-0 whitewash against their dominant neighbour India, who beat them in the World Cup 2015 quarterfinal.
