It has been quite some time since the controversy over Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has been going on, especially over their balance sheet which they have not submitted yet. But there is some good news for the big players from Delhi who are either a part of current Indian cricket team or have served it for long in the past. As reported by Times of India, India’s star batsman and Test captain Virat Kohli has finally received his match fees from the association for leading the side in NKP Salve Challenger Trophy three years ago. An amount of INR 1,76,400 has been sanctioned in the name of Kohli.
There are also few players who have received the sanctioned amount by DDCA and Shikhar Dhawan, Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag are among those. Dhawan received the highest amount of payment INR 2,37,600, while Gambhir and Sehwag were paid for INR 9,000 and INR 4,500.
DDCA hosted many matches during the ICC World T20 2016 and Indian Premier League (IPL), which eventually profited them and helped them in paying their pending dues to players. The association treasurer Ravinder Manchanda gave the actual reason behind the payment and said, “These payments are made from the profits the DDCA has made by hosting World T20 and IPL matches this year.
