South African Chinaman Tabraiz Shamsi, who is playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) season, has garnered enough interest from all quarters since he made his IPL debut. Surprisingly, it is not his bowling that has created the hype, but his awkward ‘Bus-Driver’ celebration.
During a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), his celebration had come under criticism from the opposition captain David Warner, after the latter found it unnecessary and untimely. Shamsi had got into the act after dismissing Warner and also got his skipper Virat Kohli involved but the Australian opener had already amassed 92 runs by then, resulting in his win.
After the match, Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) player and fellow Australian Adam Zampa had tweeted condemning Shamsi’s celebration:
Shamsi’s wicket celebrations are no good

It seems Shamsi took a note of Zampa’s tweet much later and hit back at him with his tweets:
1/2 Pretty disappointed 2 see someone who doesn’t even know me at all n wasnt even involved in that game making comments about me…
— Tabraiz Shamsi (@shamsi90) May 8, 2016
2/2 ….and I think Adam Zampa shud focus a little bit more on himself and ALOT LESS on me and my celebrations #StartThatBus

Later, former Australian cricketer and current coach of the national team Darren Lehmann also joined the conversation by tweeting:
Just watch the shamsi carry – on , concentrate on bowling mate. Win games and then everyone will respect you #RCBvSRH #warner 92 and win ?

This battle does not seem to be ending anytime soon and it will be interesting to see whether Shamsi takes it forward with another reply on the thread or chooses to ignore and move on.
