With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, the merrier times are here again. Not just the commoners, but even the cricketers are getting into the festive groove. New Zealand opening batsman Martin Guptill too is apparently enjoying the festive and vacation season.

Recently, Guptill did a Santa when he visited the Re-Start Mall in Christchurch and gave away BLACKCAPS gear and tickets to Saturday’s Boxing-Day match against Sri Lanka to the visitors and cricket fans present at the mall. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) posted the pictures of Santa Guptill giving away the goodies through their official Instagram account and wrote:

“Marty ‘Claus’ Guptill is down at Christchurch’s Re-Start Mall giving out prizes and tickets to Saturday’s game right now! Get on down! #backtheblackcaps”

Guptill had a fantastic 2015, where he scored his maiden One-Day International (ODI) ton, which also happened to be New Zealand’s first, during the World Cup. New Zealand will play Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the five-match series on Boxing-Day.
