Cricket fans in India had a great start to the day as they woke up to witness a record stand between South African run-machine Hashim Amla and ‘Champion’ Dwayne Bravo on Saturday. The occasion was Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match between Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) and Barbados Tridents (BT), which the former won by 11 runs. Batting first, TKR were in all sorts of trouble with the score reading 20/4. At this stage, Amla was joined by Bravo in the middle and their association went till the end. By then, the duo had added 150 more runs, which is a new record for highest fifth wicket partnership in all T20s. With the score reading 170, Amla fell on the last ball of the innings for a personal score of 81; a Man-of-the-Match effort.
In reply, the Tridents, who boasted of the likes of AB de Villiers, Shoaib Malik and skipper Kieron Pollard in their ranks, fell short of the target by 11 runs. The 150-run stand between Amla and Bravo not just won their team the game, but also earned them accolades from the Twitter world. Here, we bring to you the best of the tweets on the same:
