Pakistan’s veteran Younis Khan once again proved why he is the most successful Test batsman of the nation. After a poor run in the first three Tests, the onus was on Younis to prove his weight in the series and was expected to score big, which he did.
Batting at fifth position, Younis went on to score his fifth double ton in Tests and he achieved the milestone in style with a massive six to England spinner Moeen Ali. He became the second Test batsman to complete his double hundred with a six after Mahela Jayawardene of Sri Lanka.
This double ton by Younis broke plenty of records and one of them is that he is the first Pakistan batsman to score a double hundred in England at number five position. He is also the first batsman from Pakistan to score a double century in England in this century.
With this magnificent knock by Younis, cricket fraternity can be seen alive on Twitter to applaud this outing. Here are some of the tweets.
Younis Khan’s double hundred couldn’t have been more timely & can be a series levelling effort.
