If you are a Test cricket fan, what would you do when you wait for your favourite Test match, from one of the biggest Test series of the year, to begin but find that highlights of some other sporting event, which concluded days ago, being shown instead of it? The cricket lovers in India were forced to experience this by Star Sports, the official broadcaster for Pakistan’s tour to England 2016, as they chose to telecast highlights of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) instead of live telecast of the Test match. ALSO READ: Mohammad Yousuf wants Pakistan to play their home matches in Bangladesh or Sri Lanka.
The third Test between the two teams was scheduled to start at 3:30 pm IST on Wednesday and Star Sports, who run four, yes you read it right, four sports channels in India, were supposed to telecast it live. But the ardent cricket fans were forced to see the best of PKL when they tuned into different channels run by the broadcaster for Test cricket’s live telecast. The fuming fans immediately took to Twitter and started bashing Star Sports left, right and centre for this negligent approach towards cricket.
