The series score-line is 3-0 against India and they have still opted for the option to exclude their best bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin from the playing XI. When such things happen we know all is not well with Indian cricket. In tracks at Perth and Brisbane that had more pace and bounce, India opted for two spinners and when it was turning at MCG, India dropped Ashwin.
While their counterparts Australia have drafted off-spinner Nathan Lyon in the side, on a Canberra surface which is expected to slow down later on, India have again excluded Ashwin from the playing XI. Ashwin is currently the No.2 Test bowler and the only Indian bowler in top 10 of the ODI rankings.
While Ashwin was dearly missed at MCG, India made the same mistake at Canberra. The decision to exclude their premier bowler has not gone well with the Indian fans on social media, who expressed their disappointment on Twitter and soon the off-spinner began to trend.
