The hysteria surrounding the ICC World T20 2016 is all set to go a notch higher as the first match of the Super 10 stage gets played between India and New Zealand at Nagpur on Tuesday. The fans have been doing all kinds of things ahead of this match; holding prayers, getting tricolor painted on body, taking special hair-cuts and all sorts of things. Search engine Google too has come up with a doodle to mark the occasion.
The doodle, which is a temporary alteration of the logo on Google’s homepage done basically to celebrate special occasions and people, has been made visible on the Indian version of the popular search engine’s website. Since cricket is immensely popular in this part of the world and the tournament is quite naturally garnering tremendous interest, it was only apt that Google marked this important event as well.
It seldom happens that Google misses out on observing the occasions that hold importance. It frequently updates its homepage with doodles, commemorating people and events worldwide. The India-New Zealand clash is expected to be the most trending activity on Tuesday. The hosts India, who are being considered the favourites to lift the cup, taking on New Zealand — a side they are yet to beat in T20Is — looks to be a mouth-watering prospect.
