Indian military is one of the most ranked and esteemed army in the world. India is among the top in terms of military services and has the biggest voluntary army in the world. Many cricketers and celebrities are honoured with high-designated ranks in the Indian Army, for instance Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been awarded the rank of Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army.
It’s a dream for most of the citizens and cricketers to serve the country, as there is no bigger pride than serving one’s own nation. Indian batting stalwart Shikhar Dhawan through his tweet expressed his wish and respect for the Indian army and even said that if not cricket, he would have definitely served the nation through army.
Defence personnel sacrifice everything for the safety of the citizens and deserve a lot of respect for the tedious energy and effort they put in. Dhawan on this occasion took the opportunity and made the utmost use of his leisure time by meeting his fans from the army.
Dhawan in his tweet posted a picture of his with army officials and expressed his glee by writing, “If I wouldn’t have been a cricketer, I’d be a Fauji. They inspire me a lot & I have nothing but respect for them.”
The Delhi based left-handed opener has been included in the Indian Twenty 20 (T20) squad, which will take on South Africa on Friday at Dharamsala. He’s been providing good starts at the top and along with Rohit Sharma, he is a certain for the opening slot.
