India pulled off an empathic win against Pakistan in their opening encounter in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at Adelaide on Sunday. Indian skipper MS Dhoni led the charged up Indian side to its sixth World Cup win against their arch-rivals.

During the presentation ceremony, the fan question that Dhoni was asked was, “How do you control your emotions when you sense a big win?” Dhoni promptly replied, “I don’t control my emotions. They are there. Just that I don’t like to be over-expressive.”

On the memorable win, Dhoni hailed the performance of his batsmen saying, “I was very happy with our batting. When you are batting first, it is not easy over here. It doesn’t come to bat nicely. It has a bit of a variable pace initially. Gets comfortable after that. It was important we stayed in the middle. The big partnership between Virat (Kohli) and Shikhar (Dhawan). And then Raina capitalised as well.”

Dhoni also said that the break ahead of the World Cup helped the side rejuvenate. “The break in between was important,” he said.
