ICC Women’s World T20: Javeria Khan’s condition stable after being struck on her jaw by cricket ball

Cricket is a fantastic game and one of the most followed but at times the pristine game can get brutal as injuries play a massive role in this. A horrifying injury was witnessed during the third game of ICC Women’s World T20 between Pakistan and West Indies at Chennai on Wednesday, where the former’s opener Javeria Khan was injured. Javeria suffered a tragic blow on her neck below the ear by a fiery delivery from her counter-part Shamilia Connell in the first over. Javeria in no time collapsed on the ground and was rushed to the hospital where after some time her condition was announced stable.

Pakistan lost the game as they fell short of four odd runs while chasing a modest target of in their 20 overs. While chasing, Pakistani openers Sidra Ameen and Javeria walked out to bat. But in the very first, over things got nasty for Javeria as a delivery from Shamilia bounced and struck Javeria on her jaws.

She was instantly rendered some medical assistance at the ground after which she was taken to the hospital for some better medical aid and a CT scan. The scan later gave some good news as things were alright but she will be kept back under examination for another day.
