In a ‘tweet-controversy’, Harsha Bhogle upsets Scotland players; tries to make peace through Facebook post

The tweets apparently caused a furore in the Scot camp, as first captain Mommsen and then his teammates George Munsey and Matt Machan jumped into the conversation.

With every major global event, the ICC’s role and commitment over the issue of expanding the game and giving associate nations their due comes under the scanner. With the ICC World T20 2016 underway in India, game’s governing body has once again come under attack by the associate nations for the number of games they get to play at global level. Most of the times, it becomes a battle between Ireland and ICC. This time however, two unlikely parties have got involved in it.

Scotland captain Preston Mommsen, after his side went out of the tournament in the first round, said during the post-match press-conference, “Between the 2015 World Cup and the first match of the World T20 2016 qualifiers, I have played just one match.” Commentator and cricket expert Harsha Bhogle tweeted on the matter and what followed was a ‘tweet-war’. Bhogle wrote:
