India beat South Africa by 124 runs in the third Test at Nagpur and won the series 2-0 with one match still to go. Ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin finished the match with 12 wickets and played key role in India’s win. Fourth and the final Test will be played from December 3 in Delhi.
The nature of wickets for the Test series was always a topic of debate, as there were calls for rank turners to be prepared for the Test matches after India’s loss in shorter formats. The first Test at Mohali ended inside three days, as Indian spinners dominated the proceedings and took India to 1-0.
The second Test was called off after just a day’s play due to rain. South Africans were expecting a sporting track at Nagpur, but it turned out to be another slow track and the visitors once again surrendered within three days, handing India the match and the series.
Cricket experts, players from other teams and quite a few fans have slammed the Nagpur pitch, some even going to the extent of calling it ‘diabolical’. Since the beginning of this Test, Twitter has been abuzz with comments on the nature of pitch and now with the Test is over, a lot more will follow. We present to you some top picks from the tweets on the Nagpur Test here:
