So, the United States is all set to be the 19th nation where India will play an international match. Cricket once again enters Uncle Sam’s unfamiliar territory but this time it is not the old warhorses battling to create nostalgia like they did in the Cricket All-Stars but the rock stars of T20 cricket are gracing the nation of dreams.
India play West Indies in the first of the two T20Is at Lauderhill, Florida. India may have beaten West Indies 2-0 in the recently concluded Test series but the shortest format is a different ball game. It is a format where West Indies are the world champions and en route to their title earlier this year, they beat the dominant Team India in the semi-final of ICC World T20 2016. Almost after five months since then, the two sides will square against each other in an unfamiliar territory. India will have the support thanks to the presence of expats but Florida being very close the Caribbean Islands, expect support aplenty for the men in maroon.
