Indian cricket team welcomes World Twenty20 2016 in style

International Cricket Council (ICC) World Twenty20 (T20) 2016 will be played in Mumbai with its first match commencing on March 8. The schedule was released by ICC in Mumbai on Friday and Indian cricketers Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan were spotted with the coveted trophy on the occasion.
ICC instantly took to their official Twitter handle where they uploaded a picture of the trio along with the trophy and wrote, “Team India welcomes you to #WT20 2016!”

India have been placed in Group 2 along with New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan and the winner of Group A, whereas defending champions Sri Lanka share their group with England, South Africa and West Indies along with the winner from Group B. The tournament will be played at eight venues across India. India will lock horns with New Zealand in their first game of the edition on March 15 which will be followed by Pakistan on December 19 at Dharamsala.

The tournament is expected to be filled with entertainment and excitement as the favourites India will have the home advantage. Kohli, Rahane and Dhawan have been among the consistent performers in the limited- overs format for India and their presence and contribution will be very crucial if India is eyeing for the cup.
