India’s coach Duncan Fletcher to leave for South Africa to attend funeral

The Indian team, due to face the United Arab Emirates at WACA, Perth on Saturday, will be without the support of their coach Duncan Fletcher.

According to the media manager of the Indian team Dr RN Baba, Fletcher is stated to leave for Cape Town, South Africa soon to attend the funeral of his father-in-law and is expected to be back by March 6 before India take on West Indies. Team Director Ravi Shastri will oversee proceedings in Fletcher’s absence.

Zimbabwe-born Fletcher moved and settled in Cape Town. India started off their World Cup campaign on a positive note with wins against Pakistan and South Africa. They play UAE on coming Saturday at Perth before taking on West Indies on March 6.
