Delhi Daredevils (DD) will lock horns with Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 31st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi. Both the teams have landed into the city with identical results in their previous encounters. DD suffered a traumatic loss when they were bowled out for 95 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), whereas KXIP failed to chase down a mere total of 150 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

DD are well into the race of making it to the play-offs, with their previous defeat they will be eyeing to get their momentum going and make a new start before it’s too late. Their batting was dismantled by RCB’s bowler in their previous clash. They have a well balanced side but the pace attack looks vulnerable. The side receives boosts with the arrival of Zaheer Khan, their most experienced bowler and this inclusion will bolster their pace attack. They have two world-class spinners in the form of Imran Tahir and Amit Sharma but their batsmen need to step up and contribute in order to give their bowlers a battle to fight for. They will look forward to contain KXIP in their home venue.

For KXIP, they’ve had a very inconsistent and unpredictable run so far in the tournament. Their batsmen failed to chase down a mere total of 150 against SRH, their bowling have slowly started to click but batting looks hideous. They kept losing wickets at regular interval against SRH. KXIP have to pull their socks up and win this match in order to keep their hopes alive of making it to the play-offs. Maxwell’s parched run has been a major issue of concern so far, as a result of which he lost his place to his national teammate Shaun Marsh. Their openers have failed to fire. On a whole they’ve failed to contribute as a unit. They have enough ammunition and have the potential to win this game. On paper this side has looked formidable on most occasions but their performance on field was rather a slack.

DD have only won two matches at Kotla in the past two years but still begin favourites. Expect a galore of runs, as we present you with the pick of the tweets.
