Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) take on Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the 10th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Pune on Wednesday. DD have lost both their matches while KXIP bounced back with a win against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium.
For KXIP, the openers gave a solid start and Virender Sehwag’s return to form comes as a good sign for the team. Skipper George Bailey led from the front, helping the side get to a challenging total and guiding the team towards victory.
In the bowling department, Sandeep Sharma has starred in both the matches he has played. Anureet Singh also bowled well, but later leaked runs when Harbhajan Singh got in song lately. Even Mitchell Johnson came back strongly and needs to be consistent.
On the other hand, DD started off well but their bowlers gave away the match. Albie Morkel, who was their top-scorer in the first game was replaced by Angelo Matthews, who played a crucial cameo down the order against RR. DD lost the match and credit goes to young RR’s new find Deepak Hooda.
Imran Tahir again proved why he is one of their key bowlers and now has five wickets in two matches. The other bowlers simply failed to defend the challenging total.
On the whole, KXIP will look to build onto their momentum while DD look to register their first win of this edition. It will be a good battle between the north Indian sides in Pune and we present you with the pick of the tweets.
DD won the match by 5 wickets. Thanks for your support, sheron! We will bounce back in our next game against KKR. Keep cheering! #KXIP #IPL
