Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David Warner’s fifth fifty in eight innings set up the side’s fourth win in the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The win over dominant Chennai Super Kings (CSK), takes SRH to the fifth spot in the points table.

CSK elected to field first and Warner started from the word go. His knock of 68 from 21-balls, laid the platform for a big score. Shikhar Dhawan and Eoin Morgan played good supporting roles as they guided SRH to a total of 192. CSK got off to a good start but the SRH medium pacers contained well and picked up wickets at regular intervals, not allowing the table toppers to get a big partnership. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Moises Henriques picked two wickets each and were the pick of the bowlers.

Turning point: When the 13th over started, CSK needed 83 from 48 balls with seven wickets in hand. With skipper MS Dhoni and Faf du Plessis in the crease – both well set – the match was very much in CSK’s hands. The over which was bowled by medium pacer Ashish Reddy saw du Plessis getting run out in the fourth ball and in next ball, he cleaned up Dhoni. The over saw only five coming from it with two well set batsmen back. CSK couldn’t recover from there.
